Beneath its bold use of rhythm and highly imaginative design, out of innards reveals an eviscerating vulnerability. The elusive lyricist looms. has emerged from his lair in a British ghost town with his debut full-length out of innards, the first release on Alpha Pup by a UK rapper.

Emptiness is a muse for looms., who has been crafting the album in virtual silence against a growing underground buzz. Fusing dramatic realism with dark romanticism, each track feels like an alter ego. Cerebral, guttural, cardial…they are all Newtonian parts in an elemental machine: the mythic everyman.

looms.’ unhurried eloquence is swiftly unveiled in “liver” and “ticker,” two tracks that encapsulate poetic reflections with a mesmerizing melancholy. “tummy” turns brighter with complex rhythmic density and “intestine” smolders within.

The wordsmith’s undulating flow spreads like syrup over it all, from the convulsions of “bladder” to the loose knocks of “kidney” - a thick British accent that verses with a finely-tuned dexterity. Grotesque imagery deepens the mystery behind the album’s blighted beats.
